FACE Intel's September 2, 98 E-mail Message And Intel's Internal Reactions

FACE Intel's September 2, 98 E-mail Campaign Message
Intel HR's September 3, 98 tidbit to High Level Management
Intel's September 4, 98 briefing to all Intel employees

September 2, 98 E-mail Message

Dear Intel Employee:

Beware of these key concurrent, contradictory, and questionable events in recent months at Intel and realize the sly strategy behind them and devious tactics implemented in fulfilling them:

  1. Redeployment
  2. Layoffs
  3. Targeting for terminating through R&R
  4. Hiring freeze
  5. Aggressive hiring from colleges
  6. Nationally and persistently claiming that Intel has a "severe shortage of skilled labor"

Comments:

  1. For every redeployed employee there must be an open position in Intel; otherwise the redeployment will turn into and is meant to be a torturous termination.
  2. When there is a hiring freeze and Intel is hiring from colleges it means that older employees are being replaced with cheaper RCG's.
  3. If Intel is constantly telling to its employees that "employees are our greatest asset", but is constantly and shamelessly plotting against them, Intel is flatly lying to its employees.
  4. If Intel is laying off, obviously it means there is a surplus of employees.  But, if Intel is telling to media, American public and legislators that it has "sever shortage of skilled labor", Intel is flatly lying to masses of people and misleading our legislators to change the immigration law only to replace American employees with cheap foreign workers.
  5. We all know that Intel has software development labs in Ireland, Israel, and China and presently hiring in those countries.  We also know that beyond its needs, Intel also has manufacturing plants in foreign countries.  But Intel is threatening uninformed legislators and President Clinton that if they do not pass the H-1B visa bill, Intel will transfer all of its software development and engineering jobs to other countries.  This UN-American act is nothing but bullying, cheating and lying to legislators and the President of United States.  H-1B visa bill will allow Intel and like minded corporations to import 515,000 foreign workers by year 2002, which will render older American workers out of work, lower the wages, and undermine the American standard of living.

We have been informed that Intel is down sizing by more than 10,000 American employees in 1998 although the company is claiming that it will only be laying off 3,000 employees. This reduction in work force will be accomplished by the following means:

This is the time that we have to stop Intel from cheating and victimizing the innocent employees.

We need to get united and take action and we have to show to the public the true face and intentions of Intel.

Action recommendations for you and what we will do:

  1.     You document your performance and verbal communications on paper/e-mail.
  2.     You keep a copy of your records/documents at home.
  3.     You keep a detailed diary of work events at home.
  4.     You establish and maintain a network with the other concerned employees            inside Intel.
  5.     You inform us of employment related issues (redeployments, layoffs and etc.).
  6.     You do not be intimidated by bullies at work, stay calm and in control, just          document.
  7. .   You never trust Intel's HR representatives and or HR attorneys.
  8. .   We will keep the identity of our supporters and authors strictly confidential.
  9.     We will establish inside and outside Intel networks.
  10.     We will support and facilitate employee litigations and class action lawsuit(s) as          appropriate.
  11.     We will publicize, inform, and educate the public via Internet and through media.

United people will never fall.  Support us (anonymously) so that we can support you.

If you are interested to be anonymously interviewed by media regarding the current issues at Intel, please send us your nickname, a telephone #, and the time you will be available.

If you would like your name off of our mailing list, please let us know.

Thanks for your SUPPORT!

Intel's HR instruction to its high-level managers

The Infamous Intel HR Tidbit

This document have been sent to FACE Intel (FACEI) by a FACEI member (current Intel employee) and is printed here verbatim.

On September 3, 1998, Intel's HR sent this this memo to their highest level managers around the world.  HR has instructed them to disseminate these falsified information to their manager so that eventually it gets spread through over 65,000 Intel employees.

Patty Murray - Vice President, Director of Intel's Human Resources (a former MOFO attorney) has authorized preparation and publication of this document, which is full of lies and it's a premeditated plan to deceive over 65,000 Intel employees. It is a solid evidence to support FACEI's allegations about Intel's lies, cheatings, deceitfulness, and conspiring traits.

To point out Intel's lies and misleading claims, FACEI's comments are inserted where they seemed appropriate.   You'll find these comments in boxes with green background and red fonts.

Face/AXE 1534

FACE was formed in 1996 by a former Intel employee named Ken Hamidi.  According to Mr. Hamidi, this small group (with about 10 members) is composed of "former and current employees who were discriminatorily terminated by Intel." Intel denies these claims.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote   1A

This group has also sent at least seven separate electronic messages to various Intel employees in the workplace. These messages generally describe the group, mention a web site and allege that Intel has discriminated against employees and terminated their employment unfairly. These messages have had varying degrees of circulation within the company, predominately in California sites but more recently in other U.S. and international Intel locations. Many employees have expressed their concern about these messages.

FACE Intel's Comments: Please footnote  2

If An Employee Has Received a Message from FACE: First, Intel believes the allegations by FACE are totally unfounded and untrue. Employees are free to respond to the message as they see fit. Employees are free to delete and ignore the message. If they  want to avoid being contacted in the future, they may reply and request removal from future mailings.

Also, if an employee expresses concern or anxiety about being selected by FACE to    receive a message, tell them that we do not know why particular individuals were selected. They should not be concerned or feel anxious that they happened to be on the list.

Intel is taking steps to block further messages and access to the FACE web site from Intel.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote  3

FACE Questions and Answers:

Q1:  We received an electronic mail message that makes accusations against Intel from a  group called Former and Current Employees of Intel. What is this group?

A1:  The group was formed in 1996 by a former Intel employee named Ken Hamidi. He was employed at Intel between April 1986 and April 1995. We do not know precisely who else participates in the group but estimate it has about 10 former or current employees. Mr. Hamidi and the group believe Intel treats its employees unfairly by terminating them because of their age or disability.

Q2:  What is Intel's response to these accusations?

A2:  We believe these accusations are without foundation and untrue. Indeed, Mr. Hamidi's own claims have been dismissed in Intel's favor.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote  4

Q3:  Is there any substance to Mr. Hamidi's accusations against Intel?

A3:  We believe that Mr. Hamidi was treated fairly and equitably while he was employed at Intel. In fact, Mr. Hamidi's own claims of discrimination and wrongful discharge have been dismissed in Intel's favor. Also, when Mr. Hamidi filed a worker's compensation claim against Intel which included some of the same accusations, the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board found in favor of Intel and denied Mr. Hamidi's workers' compensation claim. The Appeals Board found that he falsified his injury, medical history, home loan application and testimony under oath. Indeed, in an unusual opinion, the Board goes so far as to note Mr. Hamidi's"propensity to lie" and questions the "veracity of all aspects" of his testimony.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote  5

Q4:  How many current or former employees are involved in this group?

A4:  We estimate less than 10 people.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote  6

Q5:  If a manager or employee receives an electronic message from Mr. Hamidi or the group and asks me for advice on how to respond, what should I do?

A5:  Tell them that they are free to respond to the message as they see fit. They also are free to delete and ignore the message. If they want to avoid being contacted in the future, they may request that they be removed from any future mailings.

Q6:  If a manager or employee expresses a concern or anxiety about being selected by Mr. Hamidi or the group to receive the message, what should I do?

A6:  Tell them that we do not know why particular individuals were selected to receive the message. They should not be concerned or feel anxious that they happened to be on the list.

Q7:  Can't we stop these messages from coming directly to us at work?

A7:  We've had many complaints from Intel employees requesting that we block these messages, and are looking at our options in doing so.

Q8:  Why do we block the web site to FACE?

A8:  There are 4 main reasons Intel blocks the web site:

1) Distribution of unsolicited material is against HR Guidelines and also against Internet Service Provider guidelines against 'spamming', mass mailing to internet users.

2) The web page is defamatory of Intel and certain individuals w/in Intel.

3) There is a misconception that we do not block access to other sites, when in fact we do. We do control the use of computers and limit access (though proxy servers) of pornographic sites and other areas. We cannot possibly block all access to all pornographic sites, it is almost impossible to do so, but the use of internet at work should be limited to business use only.

FACE Intel's Comments:    Please see footnote  7

Q9:  I received a message asking me to send my resume. Why is this group asking me to send my resume?

A9:  To our knowledge, FACE is not a recruiting agency and is not an employer of any kind. We do not know why they would try to solicit our employees' resumes or applications. Their effort does violate our rules against solicitation by non-employees.

FACE Intel's Comments:   Please see footnote 8

Q10:  Is it true that Intel will layoff 10,000 employees in 1998?

A10:  No. As Craig Barrett announced earlier in the year, Intel expects to reduce its headcount by 3,000 in 1998.

Footnotes

Footnote   1:

This was not "spam" because it was not a "commercial solicitation for a product or service." It merely informed Intel employees of their legal rights and the political activities of their employer.

The e-mail contained informational and educational material.  As you see this e-mail does not encompass any profanity or hate remarks, it is only consist of political material.  Ken Hamidi simply was delivering a public speech, to public, on a public ground (Internet).  Therefore, it can not be interpreted as commercial "Spam".

Of the 29,000 (according to Intel) recipients of this email, only about 200 requested that their names be removed from future mailings.  Over 99% of recipients apparently welcomed the information.

If any of the above claims where false, Intel had the means of disputing the claims via a followup e-mail to all employees. They chose not to do so.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   1A:

Based on the sample survey conducted by FACE Intel and claims of all former Intel employees who have contacted FACE Intel, over 90% of Intel employees who have been terminated or forced to leave Intel are over age of 40.  These numbers are significant evidence showing Intel's systematic discrimination of age.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   2:

Intel employees are not concerned because they received the e-mails.  They are concerned because they are true -- Intel employees have a good reason to be concerned about their careers once they are over 40.  If the message was false, Intel has the resources to file a Libel suit. They have not. Instead they hired the second largest law firm in the world to suppress FACEI's freedom of speech, to keep their employees from knowing the truth.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   3:

If Intel believes employees are "free to respond to the [FACEI email] as they see fit," why are they blocking their access to the website the email references?

If employees are "free to decide whether to request removal from future mailings," why is Intel attempting to block future messages to all employees -- even to those who may wish to remain informed?

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   4:

Intel is lying outright to its over 65,000 employees and this is the proof of it:

After the trial of Ken Hamidi's   workers compensation case # SAC186921 against Intel, on April 3, 1996 Honorable Judge William Scott of California's Workers Compensation Appeal Board decreed in favor of Mr. Hamidi!!!  This ruling against Intel was comprised of two parts, Intel only appealed against one part of it, which later only the appealed part was turned over in favor of Intel.  But, the undisputed second part remained ruled against Intel and in favor of Ken Hamidi!!!

Via this official internal document Patty Murray is shamelessly lying to high level managers of Intel and clearly is asking them to propagate these lies about Mr. Hamidi throughout Intel.  Therefore, FACEI is absolutely right about claiming that Intel's HR department from top to bottom must not be trusted!  We have many other evidences to prove that Intel's high level HR officials like Patty Murray, Coeta Chambers, and others lie, cheat, bully, intimidate, and destroy lives of innocent people (Intel employees) for living! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME...

This is a documented and verifiable fact, which clearly proves that Intel lies, cheats, overpowers, intimidates, is a bully, is lawless, acts as it is above the law, and puts its victims under the law!

Mr. Hamidi has made several document and verifiable attempts through Craig Barrett (Intel's President), Patty Murray (Intel's VP of Human Resources), Kirby Dyess (Intel's former VP of Human Resources) to collect the damages ordered by the court.  But every single time Intel's unethical executives boldly and lawlessly have refused to abide the rule of the law.  Mr. Hamidi is in process of filing a motion with the court to compel Intel to follow the court's order.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   5:

It is an indisputable fact that Patty Murray is very closely familiar with Mr. Hamidi's both civil and worker's compensation cases.  Then if she deliberately lies about facts relating to his cases, it only means that she is deliberately misleading over 65,000 Intel employees.  Mr. Hamidi's civil case # 96 AS 05664 in Superior Court of Sacramento was not dismissed in favor of Intel, rather on April 20, 1998 it was dropped by Mr. Hamidi himself.  This is a public information and available to all including Ms. Murray whom seems is suffering from a selective amnesia.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   6:

Clearly Intel does not comprehend the scope of disgruntled current and former employees supporting or directly involved with FACE Intel. (Hint: It is more than 10.)

FACE Intel encourages anonymous membership, and in no case will FACE Intel reveal the names of its members, supporters, or authors.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   7:

It is ironic that Intel is concerned about a website that is "defamatory of certain individuals within Intel," when their own HR policy is defamatory against 5% (over 3000) of their current employees.

The reason Intel blocks employee access to FACE Intel's website is because:

  • It will render Intel's brainwashing tactics and efforts useless.
  • It will eliminate Intel's secretive and isolated work environment.
  • Employees will learn the facts about Intel's plots against them.
  • Employees will not trust their managers and HR any more.
  • Employees will start documenting and protecting themselves against Intel's predatory human resources policies and practices.
  • Many Employees will leave Intel to work for decent companies like HP and AMD.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote   8:

Intel claims they don't know why FACEI offers support to targeted employees. But FACEI understands the trauma of being targeted. If FACEI can prevent one suicide by providing hope and assistance, our efforts will be worthwhile.

Top.jpg (1141 bytes)

Footnote  9:

That is not true, as usual Intel's allegations are misleading, deceitful and lack credibility.  Read this page "Work Force Reduction" and judge for yourself.  In the past Intel's created isolated system, which is designed for a control one way communication was effective.  Today Intel employees from various locations report the true facts (like this document) to FACE Intel and we publish the news on our web site for the rest of Intel employees.  In fact this is the main reason that Intel does not want to see FACE Intel around.

UNSOLICITED OUTSIDE MESSAGE ON INTEL'S ELECTRONIC MAIL SYSTEMS

Earlier this week, many Intel employees received an unsolicited bulk communication through the company's electronic mail system from an individual claiming to represent an outside group calling itself FACE.  The messages appeared to be addressed to individual employees, but, in fact, were delivered in bulk through the Internet gateway and appeared to have been sent at random.

It is Intel's view that this kind of communication constitutes misuse of the company's electronic mail system and the company has and will take steps to prevent it from occurring in the future.  Outside individuals wishing to express their views about Intel have every right to do so.  They do not have the right to use Intel's internal business systems for that purpose.

Employees who have questions or concerns about this message should talk with their manager or contact the On Call Assistance Center at (800) 238-0486.
